Areas of scientific research

“Methods of detection and recognition of unmanned aerial vehicles”, “Methods of control and navigation of mobile ground and air robots”, “Remote sensing of the atmosphere using electromagnetic and acoustic waves”, “Development of multimedia simulators for various purposes.”

The main areas of research are aimed at improving the methods of complex processing of radar, acoustic, optical and infrared signals from UAVs, taking into account the information capabilities of the corresponding channels and their natural spatial echeloning and creating theoretical bases for detecting radar signals scattered on acoustic vibrations created by UAVs. Systems of radar protection against disturbances are improved due to recognition of classes and types of active disturbances received at the input of UAV detection radar, and adaptive control of modes of operation of such radar under conditions of masking or simulation active disturbances.

The theory of systems of radio acoustic and acoustic sensing of the atmosphere develops and applied aspects of their use in solving relevant scientific and applied problems: ensuring the take-off, launch and landing of aircraft and spacecraft, predicting weather and emergency situations in the atmosphere, predicting the propagation of electromagnetic and acoustic waves.

Significant attention is paid to the development of multimedia simulators for various purposes: for the formation of skills for managing complex systems and mechanisms, skills for shooting training by biathletes.

The connection of science with the educational process

Scientific activity at the Department of World Science and Technology is integrated with the educational process due to the need for constant advancement of the scientific and technical level of the department’s researchers, the removal of real scientific and technical skills Pre-study work of students, obtaining advanced scientific knowledge from work programs in the initial disciplines of the world programs Media Engineering and Multimedia systems, technologies and computers that are developing at the department within the framework of 172 “Electronic communications and radio engineering” and 171 “Electronics” (specialties G5 – “Electronics, electronic communications, equipment and radio engineering”). In its form, student science at the MIRES Department transfers the participation of students to scientific groups, publications to scientific publications, and, for the most part, to a specialized short-term collection “Radioelectronics and youth in the XXI Century”, short competitions to steal a student’s scientific work. In addition, the results of students’ scientific activities are reflected in master’s degree programs.

Main scientific achievements

The foundations of the theory of systems of radio acoustic and acoustic sensing of the atmosphere have been developed. The first in Europe and the second in the world system of radio acoustic sensing of the atmosphere was created.

The department has developed methods of complex processing of radar, acoustic, optical and infrared signals from UAVs, taking into account the information capabilities of the relevant channels and their natural spatial echelon for use in the system of protection of critical infrastructure objects.

Development of the department on the topic “Multimedia simulators.” Development of “Multimedia laser shooting simulator for entertainment and sports complexes” is the winner of a number of international and domestic scientific and technical exhibitions, marked by many diplomas and medals. “Laser simulator for effective shooting training of biathlon athletes” is used in the preparation of athletes of the national biathlon team of Ukraine.

Scientific seminars

The Department of MEIRES hosts monthly scientific seminars with the participation of teachers, researchers, graduate students and students.
